This will prevent that other people can use\/hack your stream.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In this tutorial i will assume that you already know how to setup a new application<\/p>\n<p>Forumlink:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wowza.com\/forums\/content.php?449\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/www.wowza.com\/forums\/content.php?449<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Needed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>existing application<\/li>\n<li>file \/conf\/publish.password<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are going to do some copy-pasting :D. We have to place the module inside the Application.xml. Add this module as the last entry in the module section (sample will be included in the end of this tutorial)<\/p>\n<pre class=\"theme:twilight lang:default decode:true\" title=\"module rtmp authenticate\">&lt;Module&gt;\r\n\t&lt;Name&gt;ModuleRTMPAuthenticate&lt;\/Name&gt;\r\n\t&lt;Description&gt;ModuleRTMPAuthenticate&lt;\/Description&gt;\r\n\t&lt;Class&gt;com.wowza.wms.security.ModuleRTMPAuthenticate&lt;\/Class&gt;\r\n&lt;\/Module&gt;<\/pre>\n<p>Now all you have to is set a username and password. Open the file \/usr\/local\/WowzaMediaServer\/conf\/publish.password and place the username and password that you desire<\/p>\n<pre class=\"theme:twilight lang:default decode:true\" title=\"publish password\"># Publish password file (format [username][space][password])\r\n# username password\r\nmyuser mypassword\r\n\r\n#stream live\r\nlive  12345\r\n\r\n#stream 2\r\nstream2 67890<\/pre>\n<p>Save the file en restart Wowza<\/p>\n<p>#: \/etc\/init.d\/WowzaMediaServer restart or #: service WowzaMediaServer restart<\/p>\n<p>Now when you connect your stream to the wowza server you have to provide a username and password. Use the same credentials from the publish.password file.<\/p>\n<p>#Note: that the user credentials from stream1 also work for stream2.
